Itinerary 1 – 03 Nights 04 Days

Day 01

Starting in Negombo, the first day of the tour will be spent on journeying to explore the iconic mountain peak of Mihintale. Long since revered by Buddhist pilgrims, this cultural site is valued for its proud history and scenic beauty. The first night of the tour will be at Anuradhapura, another of Sri Lanka’s ancient wonders. Shrouded in mystery and the ruins of a forgotten kingly capital, this is a fascinating destination to learn more about the island’s history.

Day 02

The second tour day covers the best of Anuradhapura’s cultural highlights including the infamous Aukuna statue before moving on for a refreshing night’s rest in the small town of Sigiriya.

Day 03

The next day entails a visit to the quiet ancient grounds of Polonnaruwa. Ringing with the stories of a long lost grandeur and royal rulers, the city is a maze of preserved artistic relics and creations dating back to the eleventh century. Next, guests will spend the rest of the day away in beautiful Minneriya. The Minneriya National Park is where sambar deer roam the grassy plains and the elephants while away the golden hours by quiet water pools. With stretches of lush evergreen forest and open terrains to discover, this wildlife reserve is home to some of the most exotic animal and bird species in South Asia. Once the wildlife expedition is over, guests will be escorted back to Sigiria for the night.

Day 04

The fourth day of the tour comes with surprises and wonders in the breathtaking rock fortress of Sigiriya. Constructed in the ages of the early Sri Lankan Kings, this massive stone creation is a fortified citadel showcasing brilliant architecture and designing. A truly drastic sight to behold, this destination holds a classic tale of love and war within its rocky exteriors. Next, guests will be treated to a trip in the serene and intimidating cave temples at the tiny buzzing town of Dambulla. Gleaming gold and white in the afternoon sun, the golden temple here is a beautiful sight, rich in cultural value while also being an acclaimed world heritage site.

The rest of the day is dedicated to a tour of the lovely spice gardens at Matale. Pulsing with the life force of a thousand aromatic herbs and spices, this splendid garden houses some truly exotic and rare varieties of spices. At the end of the day, we can arrange for you to be taken to Kandy for the night or provide alternate options that suit your requirements.
