Itinerary 2 – 07 Nights 08 Days

Day 01 | Day 02

Kicking off in the sunny little fishing town of Negombo, the first day of the tour opens you up to the best tour attractions in the area. The Negombo lagoon, the Dutch canal and Dutch Fort are a few of the top sights you’ll see here.  After spending a quiet night in the little city, it’s off to Kandy we go for a scoop of Sri Lanka’s cultural beauty. On the way, there will be a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where you can feel free to watch the cuddly baby elephants and bottle feed them. Next it’s time to move on to the pretty mountain haven of Kandy for the night.

This hilltop city is a feast for the eyes with its colorful vistas and slow swirling silver mists. A breathtakingly beautiful lake flanked by soft terrains of hill country dominate the city’s main features while pretty cobbled streets welcome the free spirited adventurer. Walk along the fine Kandy streets to discover stores packed with surprises and great merchandise, all the while enjoying the scenic mountain views. Top attractions in Kandy include the Temple of the Tooth, the city lake and the local museums and monasteries.

Day 03

The third day of the tour will also cover a visit to the Peradeniya Botanical Garden. A feast of flowers and all things botanical, this is a fragrant world of blossomed beauty to walk in. With a variety of flowers and plant life that come in all colors and sizes, this garden is the ideal spot to enjoy the ultimate relaxing stroll. Once the day’s activities are done, it’s time to get moving back to Kandy for the night.

Day 04

The fourth tour day will spent journeying to the picturesque mountain town of Nuwara Eliya. On the way, guests will be treated to sample some of the world’s finest tea at a reputed tea factory. After a walk among the lush tea plantations and a tour of the factory we will be getting back on the road to our destination with one more stop by a beautiful cascading waterfall. Nuwara Eliya is a captivating destination of rolling hills and prancing horses. A trending holiday spot promising a cool and sporty stay, this inspiring little hill-top sanctuary is one of its own kind. After the adventures of the day, it’s time to bed down in Nuwara Eliya and snooze till day break.

Day 05

The fifth day of the tour promises daring ventures into the heart of the island’s wilderness. The day begins with a visit to the blissfully beautiful mountain range of Horton Plains. Stretches of vast montane grasslands adorn the landscapes while evergreen cloud forests provide shelter to countless species of animal life. Rare species of magpies, babblers and flycatchers inhabit the thick tree canopies while mountain deer and wily leopards roam the quiet forest floors. Wild boars and mongoose are some of the more easily spotted animals you can encounter on a hike into this shadowy stretch of highland. Once the trip to Horton Plains is done with, it’s off to Yala we go to spend the night in Tissamaharama.

Day 06

A sixth day of touring and yet another adventure into the best of Sri Lanka’s wildlife. A full breakfast and it’s time to get going on a safari trip to Yala, the ultimate island wilderness experience. Yala is among the most celebrated wildlife destinations in South Asia and plays home to a diverse array of plant and animal species. See for yourself the beauty of majestic elephants lording over grassy plains and skulking leopards stalking their prey from the shadows. This is where you can enjoy the spectacle of strutting peacocks dancing away the golden evenings while deer run off under blood red skies. A paradise of wildlife in earth, Yala is a place of serenity and discovery that can thrill even the most hard-core adventurer. Once the wildlife safari is over, it’s time to move on to the sandy peaceful beach recluse of Mirissa for the night.

Day 07 | Day 08

The seventh day of the tour involves a trip to the iconic seaside city of Galle. A legacy of architectural perfection, Galle is a pretty little beach city dotted with historical highlights and attractions dating back to the colonial era. A busy little metropolis of a kind, this is a colorful destination alive with the scent of exotic spices mingled with the fresh ocean breeze. Top sights here include a sprinkling of Dutch colonial buildings such as the Galle Fort, Flag Rock, Dutch hospital and archaeological museums. The rest of the day will be spent on the Hikkaduwa shores where golden sand dunes lie alluringly amid slow lapping turquoise waters. Once the day is done, guests will be spending the night at a quiet comfortable beachfront recluse. As the tour comes to a close, guests can be provided wit transport to the Colombo airport as per their preference.
